Animus

The ground was familiar to the sound and feel of running. It became accustomed to it once creatures of the sea claimed the earth thus making it their slave and once evolved it was expected to provide them with fresh fruits of nourishment. As the creatures ate greedily there was only one species that was able to live in peace with the earth and provide the same gentle nourishment as it had for them.

They were people, evolved from your average ape but not as beastly and with some common sense in the right mind. Though many of this kind were one in the same there was a tribe that kept to their laws of giving back what they once took, the law was a millennium old but was repeated by mouth to the young so that they would never forget the true mother of life. There was a chief named Takuk who strongly believed that in order for humanity to thrive they would need to listen to their mother earth and abide by their law or else they would fall like all creatures before them however his brother, Shaku, did not have the same views as Takuk.

Shaku had a dark aura that surrounded him, wherever he went the people of his tribe would give false smiles when they acknowledged the brother of the chief. He laughed to himself privately whenever someone would mention the greatness of Takuk sometimes it would even start a fire in his belly and he was forced to look away for evil was visible as day in the eyes of their tribe. As the oldest Shaku was known to excel in his tasks as the son of a chief member however he proved to be brutal toward his enemy and was often taken bloodlust when angered, he did not care for his people as long as the tents were filled with gold he was content but Takuk showed differently. He believed that the power was within the people as a gift given by the mother earth and that they should follow the law as they had for centuries, this pleased their father Roak and the position of chief was given to Takuk the time of the chief's passing.

Takuk was then bound to his partner Lano, Shaku's previous mistress who wore her long black hair with flowers as arrangements and had a voice sweet like honey. Her eyes from the start were always set on Takuk which is why Lano kept her as his mistress for many years but little did he know that Takuk reciprocated her feelings but did not say much on the subject as she belonged to his brother but once chief he claimed her as his and thus their son Koba was born.

Koba was a skilled leader from birth and was found to be a sacred given by the mother earth who was pleased with Takuk's leadership. He was unlike other children, Koba was born with the mark of the earth around his neck and his eyes would shine like the sky when the mother earth smiled upon her children but was in every way identical to his father. His mother's kindness lived within him, however, which strengthen his bond within the people and made them admire him more as he was nothing but a pure light in the darkest of times for you see the tribe had been in war.

It was at the age of sixteen that Koba had proved that he was ready to become the next chief as his father was now away in battle in his best efforts to find peace being the man he was however Shaku had other plans.
