Hi! I hope you're enjoying my work as time progresses and I know that I update very slowly but assure you that the more time I have on my hands the faster I type up a new poem or short story for you guys! Anyway here's a little bit about me.
I was born in the city of Brownsville, Texas and have lived in a town nearby with my two younger siblings and a single mom for almost 14 years. I fell in love with reading when I was six years old because I was so new to the English language that I just wanted to learn more through stories that would take me away from reality and into the land of dreams. My love for books kept growing as did my will to write any fantasy that my brain could come up with at the time being. Edgar Allan Poe and R. L. Stine were my favorite writers as a seven-year-old in first grade and then my reading continued into gothic novels and real-life scenarios like those similar to Ellen Hopkins.
I didn't start writing stories until I was in ninth grade, almost fifteen when a teacher approached me saying that I should continue writing because it was just so amazing. Of course I didn't believe her because self-criticism can be a total pain in the butt, but nonetheless, I picked up the pencil and started writing poetry like I always do. For some reason, I love writing poetry, especially when it's dark because it shows that not everything in the world is under a heavenly light but can be dark right in front of you if someone were to look hard enough.
My mother passed away on December 9, 2012, and it was completely heart shattering because she was everything to me despite her criticism to make me a better writer and a better person. It was because of her death that my writing became that sort gothic lust for looking into the world where everything was supposed to be happy when in fact it was just a veil put over my eyes. I grew up too fast too soon but I figured it was better late than ever.
Background on my author name it was given to me in middle school while I was in a band and I played bass at the time (I was terrible). My idol at the time was Mike Dirnt and they said that his stage name was given to him because of the sound the bass made when plucked. Wanting to be just like him we decided for a name that just rolled off the tongue and ever since then I've made it my "writers" name.
In my writing, I always include a small part of myself when it comes to creating a story or writing a poem ranging from what I want to what I am. Every writer puts in their interest and what they could've done in an age or time of their life and that's what I do. I think to myself, "What would I do?" and write down exactly that. So please, enjoy the writings and enjoy the website as it progresses over the years. I hope to publish a book soon and poetry as I enter my life in college!
